Community & Family Services
Many people in our community are only one paycheck or crisis away from homelessness. The Caring Place has a Family and Community Ministries Advocate who offers spiritual and practical assistance to any individual or family in the community. They support, make referrals and advocate for you with other agencies and support networks. Their goal is to empower you as you work through tough times and assist you to make the right choices. Some of the things that our advocate can do for you is:
- Make referrals to partnering agencies
- Make appointments
- Provide spiritual counseling
- Provide practical assistance with vouchers for clothing & household needs
- Coordinate integrated case management with partnering agencies
If you need someone to help you during a rough time, please contact Connie McGonigal at 604-463-8296 ext. 112 or email connie.mcgonigal@caringplace.ca
Camping Ministry
Every year our church sends dozens of kids to The Salvation Army Camp Sunrise. This is a great opportunity for those children who may not ever get this kind of experience to have a holiday away. These children get to take part in all kinds of activities at camp and are taken care of by a group of dedicated and caring staff. Every year we seek out individuals and groups to sponsor children to go to camp and help those who could not easily afford it.
If you have or know a child who could benefit from this ministry please contact us.
If you would like to sponsor a child to go to camp we would love to hear from you as well.
